Primary Purpose:
Under general direction, the Director of Basketball Operations - Men's Basketball, is responsible to plan and organize all team travel, coordinate student-athlete academic development, and convey information between Pacific, conference schools, and the West Coast Conference (WCC) office. They must have the ability to communicate effectively, coordinate multiple priorities, travel with the team, and handle sensitive information necessitating use of tact, discretion, and judgment.
Essential Functions:
- Resolves routine and complex problems with minimal consultation; handles multiple assignments and prioritizes in a constantly changing work environment; recognizes and improves administrative and operational processes as needed.
- Coordinates logistics for team's travel for all contests/events conducted away from the Pacific campus. Responsible for booking travel: flights, hotels, ground transportation, meals and per diem for coaches, staff, and students.
- Oversees and monitor's expenses for team and coaches ensuring timely and accurate submission of expense reimbursements, adherence to University business policies and procedures, and provides support to budget planning and management.
- Insures all aspects of academic performance for men's basketball student-athletes. Develops and implements a tracking system of class attendance, communicates with academic advisor to insure degree progress leading to graduation, and plans all study table and tutor appointments.
- Serve as liaison between head coach and internal and external University community to execute tasks for the head coach's outreach efforts.
- Establishes guidelines and serves as a liaison for the men's basketball team's social media programs in the West Coast Conference. Educates staff and student-athletes on all aspects of this program.
- Plans and develops marketing and community outreach activities for the men's basketball program, including marketing and promotional activities with media, alumni and civic groups.
- Arranges and coordinates all housing needs for men's basketball student-athletes - Fall, Spring and Summer.
- Participates in Booster Club meetings, events and activities.
- Oversees the recruitment of and manages a team of student managers and work study students to complete required tasks such as practice preparation, statistical compilation, and video collection.
- Performs other related duties as assigned or requested.

Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelors Degree.
- Two (2) years of related basketball experience: playing, coaching, or basketball operations.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Understanding of basketball recruiting and knowledge of team travel.
- Good organizational skills, attention to detail and able to work and meet critical deadlines.
- Ability to communicate clearly, both written and verbally, to give direction or to drive results.
- Basic computer skills and social media skills.
- Basic understanding of budget oversight and control.
- General knowledge of NCAA, West Coast Conference and University of the Pacific rules and regulations as they pertain to student-athletes and prospective student-athletes.
- Basic knowledge of arranging travel for large groups.
- Experience and sensitivity in working with people of diverse backgrounds and cultures.
- Demonstrated experience in advancing social justice, equity, and inclusion in a university setting.
- Ability to engage and integrate culturally responsive practices and knowledge in their work.
