Position Overview

ZRG has been engaged to recruit a Director of Business Operations for Old Dominion University, a public doctoral research university with nearly 24,000 students.

Position Description

The Director of Business Operations reports to the Assistant Vice President of Facilities Management & Construction. Responsibilities include:

• Supervision of budget preparation and financial forecasting.
• Preparing budget projections based on historical data.
• Providing financial direction and monitoring performance metrics.
• Coordinating with campus departments and state agencies.
• Designated as essential personnel for emergency closings.

Qualifications

Minimum:

• Bachelor’s degree in accounting, finance, or related field.
• Knowledge of workflow processes and state/university procedures.
• Excellent communication skills and ability to interpret policies.
• Experience in financial management, budget preparation, and public procurement.
• Experience in a Facilities Management organization.

Preferred:

• Master’s degree in business administration or related field.
• Knowledge of fleet management and familiarity with Archibus CMS and Banner.
