Dublin, Bahrain and Malaysia. RCSI is a Recognised College of the National University of Ireland.
Launched in 2016, the RCSI_TOMORROW campaign is a comprehensive philanthropic initiative designed to achieve lasting impact on global health through targeted investment in education and research. RCSI has seen substantial growth in philanthropic support, securing more than €50 million in income since 2016. As RCSI continues to evolve, philanthropy is expected to play an increasingly significant and sustained role in supporting the University’s long-term vision and growth.
RCSI is now seeking to appoint a new Director of Development and Alumni relations, who will provide leadership and direction to the Development, Alumni Relations and Fellows & Members Department. As a member of the Senior Management Team, reporting directly to the Vice Chancellor, the Director of Development and Alumni Relations will serve as RCSI’s chief fundraising officer, leading efforts to maximise philanthropic income in support of RCSI’s strategic objectives, whilst also contributing to the broader leadership of the University. This is a strategically important leadership role within RCSI, responsible for strengthening engagement with the University’s key communities and growing philanthropic support.
Candidates will be expected to demonstrate well-developed leadership and management skills, including the ability to inspire, mentor and develop a team committed to achieving results. Candidates must have an established track record of leading comprehensive philanthropic campaigns, and of significantly growing the number of major donors and value of lead gifts. The successful candidate will have strong interpersonal skills, with demonstrated ability to engage and influence with key stakeholders, external partners and funders. The appointee will be self-motivated and adaptable with significant resilience and determination, and a high degree of personal integrity.
