Develop and execute a strategic recruiting plan to identify,
evaluate, and attract academically and athletically qualified
prospective student-athletes,
Designs, prepares, and runs comprehensive training sessions and
competition strategies focused on the development of
student-athletes competitive success.
Hire, supervise, mentor, and evaluate assistant coaching staff,
fostering a collaborative environment.
Manage the program’s overall operating budget ensuring
responsible stewardship of college resources and adherence to
financial policies and procedures.
Cultivate positive relationships with alumni, donors, community
members, and local fencing organizations, while actively supporting
fundraising initiatives, program promotion, and external engagement
efforts.
Support the academic achievement and holistic development of
student-athletes.
Ensure compliance with NCAA Division III, NESCAC, and college
rules and regulations.
Perform other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's Degree
- 3-5 years of experience
- Ability to develop and maintain strong relationships with
student athletes, prospective students, other coaches, leadership,
faculty, and staff
- Ability to work independently as well as within a team
- Strong problem-solving skills and ability to work well in
fast-paced and stressful environments
- Ability to maintain professional code of ethics
- Demonstrated understanding of and commitment to diversity,
equity, and inclusion
- Ability to respond effectively to sensitive inquiries or
complaints
- Schedule and coordinate work and activities of others
- Strong communication skills (both oral and written) and skilled
in making presentations
- Experience planning, implementing and managing programs
- Ability to manage social media posts for the team
- Interpersonal conflict management skills
