GENERAL STATEMENT OF DUTIES:
FSU invites applications from candidates with experience overseeing and managing the logistical and administrative aspects of student pre- and practicum placements for the following Initial licensure programs: Early Childhood, Elementary, Secondary/Subject [Biology, Chemistry, Earth Science, English, History, Math, World Languages, Visual Art], Moderate Disabilities and English as a Second Language. The Director's role involves coordinating with various stakeholders, including students, faculty, staff, public school administrators, and supervising practitioners, to secure, maintain, and evaluate placement sites. The director also manages and coordinates the process of educator licensure, accreditation, and reporting, ensuring compliance with regulations and state policies, and manages the collection and submission of data for program review. This is a twelve-month administrative position.

Field Placement Coordinator
EXAMPLES OF SPECIFIC DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of Field Placement and Licensure is responsible for identifying, developing, and maintaining relationships with potential field placement sites and preceptors. This would include communicating with district human resource offices and school principals or their designees at area public schools and participating in school partnership meetings and activities as appropriate. The Director leads the Professional Standards Committee to review and discuss applicants for the upcoming semester, as well as those enrolled in field experiences. In conjunction with the Field Placement Coordinator, the Director works with selected faculty and staff to understand students' interests and goals, and then matches students with suitable field placements. Working with the Field Placement Coordinator, the Director will communicate with candidates regarding application deadlines, requirements for upcoming field experiences, related questions and problems, registration information, field experience orientation, field experience instructions, background check and fingerprinting information, and instructions. The Director will develop and maintain all field experience-related documents, with the assistance of the Field Placement Coordinator. The Director provides support and guidance to students, supervising practitioners, and program supervisors throughout the placement and practicum process, as well as licensure procedures and compliance. The Director organizes and facilitates orientations, workshops, and other events related to field placements for students, program supervisors, and supervising practitioners. In collaboration with the Data Management and Candidate Assessment of Performance (CAP) Coordinator, the Director manages and analyzes data related to licensure programs and ensures accurate and timely completion of necessary paperwork, reports, and documentation related to placements and licensure.
Job Requirements
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Earned a master's degree in an education-related field
- Seven years of successful teaching and/or administration experience in a public PK-12 school setting
- Experience supervising student teachers and/or teaching assistants.
- Deep understanding of educator licensure, with a minimum of 3 years of experience with field placement and licensure in a PK-12 or higher education setting
- Knowledge of Massachusetts' or another state's licensure requirements
- Evidence of collaborating with multiple groups/entities, such as local school districts and state education agencies
- Data Collection and Analysis Capabilities
- Strong Communication, Interpersonal, and Organizational Skills
- Demonstrated ability to multitask
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office Products and Tools
PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience with program review and self-study reporting
- Experience training supervisors of student teachers
- Understanding of Massachusetts Public Schools and Curriculum Frameworks
- Experience with the Massachusetts Candidate Assessment of Performance (CAP)
- Demonstrated ability to work with both traditional and nontraditional college-age students
- Experience in leading others strategically for continuous improvement
- Experience with grant writing and other resource generation
Additional Information
This is a full-time, exempt, benefits-eligible position in the Association of Professional Administrators (APA) bargaining unit with a union title of Director. The starting salary range is $83,000-92,000.
