Director of Finance and Administration
Job Summary
The Director of Finance and Administration (DFA) for the Department of Physiology and Biophysics coordinates policies and procedures and oversees the implementation of research and administrative programs within the Department of Physiology and Biophysics. The Director of Finance and Administration oversees and has authority over all administrative functions including finance, grants and contracts, human resources, procurement, information technology and services, official functions, asset and space planning, and day-to-day operations. The Director of Finance and Administration represents the department within the School of Medicine and the University of Colorado Anschutz Medical Campus.
Key Responsibilities
- Oversee and direct all departmental fiscal, human resources, administrative and operational activities.
- Oversee, direct, and manage all funds of the department, including State appropriations, gift and endowment funds, grant and contract funds, auxiliary and grant release funds.
- Oversee financial reporting, analysis, forecasting and business planning.
- Develop and maintain, with department leadership, standardized compensation plans for faculty and senior administrators.
- Ensure compliance with compensation models, regulations and policies.
- Partner, collaborate, and provide direction to internal and external stakeholders.
- Engage in development activities related to finding new or expanded funding sources.
- Prepare reports such as self-studies, AAMC and NSF reports.
- Oversee departmental purchasing activities, facilities, research resources and digital information technology infrastructure.
Work Location
Onsite – this role is expected to work onsite and is located in Aurora, Colorado. There is the possibility to work a hybrid schedule at a later date with the approval of the Department Chair.
