Job Summary:
This role oversees the Student Financial Aid Services office at the assigned campus and ensures compliance with federal and state financial aid regulations, develops and updates office procedures, and manages audit requirements. This position collaborates with other campus student services to promote financial aid programs to students and the community while supervising, developing, and supporting office staff and leads the department in implementing new programs, improving workflow processes, supporting campus and district initiatives, and delivering financial aid presentations.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements
- Manages all aspects of the Student Financial Aid Services and serves as the Financial Aid expert at the assigned campus
- Ensures compliance with federal, state and institutional financial aid regulations, financial aid procedures, and audit requirements
- Maintains knowledge of new or changing financial aid regulations, develops and modifies procedures and standards, and incorporates guidelines and trends into the College’s financial aid programs
- Creates workflow processes in campus Student Financial Aid Services to maximize staff efficiencies and manage peak demands for financial aid services
- Oversees the development of training programs for procedures within the scope of the office responsibilities
- Provides support to campus Student Services and Administration
- Provides support to Tarrant County Independent School districts and other constituents
- Delivers Financial Aid presentations to current and prospective students, parents, and TCC staff
- Provides campus ad-hoc financial aid data requests
- Assists with the short and long-term planning process for Student Financial Aid Services
- Participates as a member of Student Financial Aid Services' Leadership Team
General Supervision and Management
- Provides leadership for all assigned direct reports
- Provides direction, on-going monitoring, and support for personnel management, evaluation, and development of tasks for direct reports
Service Excellence
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the worksite
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
Required Minimum Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree and seven (7) years' working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements, or any equivalent combination of education and work-related experience
- Three (3) years' experience supervising (e.g., managing, evaluating the performance of others)
Preferred Qualifications:
- Current National Association of Student Financial Aid Administrators (NASFAA) Credentials or Certified Financial Aid Administrator Certification (FAAC)
- At least three (3) years’ working experience in a community college related to the Essential Performance Requirements
- At least one (1) years’ working experience with Ellucian Banner/Colleague Management System
- At least one (1) year's working experience administering Financial Aid Programs specifically for the state of Texas, including Financial Aid Database reporting
