Director of Games Management
Job Details
Randolph-Macon College invites applications for a full-time, ten-month (mid-August to mid-June), Director of Games Management to lead the planning and execution of all home, regular-season athletic events overseeing event execution from start to finish. Reporting to the Assistant Athletic Director, this role ensures smooth game operations, manages various contest logistics, and supports coaches, officials, visiting teams, and spectators with a customer-service–oriented approach. The Director will also provide secondary support for football, men’s basketball, women’s basketball, and post-season events, with Athletic Administration serving as the primary contact for those contests.
Key Responsibilities:
- Lead Game Day Operations: Oversee logistics, staffing, setup, and crowd management for all regular-season home events.
- Coordinate Pre-Event Logistics: Communicate with officials and visiting teams, manage facility prep, parking, signage, and equipment needs.
- On-Site Leadership: Serve as the primary point of contact for coaches, officials, and game personnel during events.
- Post-Event Management: Tear down, locker room oversight, and coordination with housekeeping and facilities for turnover.
- Administrative Support: Manage game contracts, submit facility work orders, and help maintain athletic venues.
- Collaborative Partner: Work closely with coaches, Sports Information, Campus Safety, Facilities, and Athletic Administration to meet sport-specific needs.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor’s degree preferred
- Prior experience in game day management and/or athletic event operations desired
- Strong organizational, multitasking, and communication skills
- Customer service–oriented mindset with a professional demeanor
- Skilled in crowd control and de-escalation, with a calm, authoritative presence
- Ability to work evenings, weekends, and extended hours as required
