POSITION TITLE: Director of Health Services

SUMMARY:

The job of the College Nurse is to manage a health care program for the assessment, evaluation, maintenance and improvement of the overall health of our students. The nurse will assist in removing or modifying health related barriers to learning in individual students and will help to promote the prevention of illness and disability as well as early detection and correction of health problems.

QUALIFICATIONS:

• A Bachelor's degree in Nursing from an accredited four-year college or university
• Hold Registered Nurse certification
• Efficient and accurate data entry skills
• Intermediate knowledge of Microsoft Office programs
• 3-5 years of experience in nursing
• Ability to multi-task
• Excellent communication and customer service skills

RESPONSIBILITIES:

• Provide confidential health advice to individual students
• Manage and isolate students who may have an infectious disease
• Deliver primary medical services to students in the health center
• Perform medical consultation and therapy
• Establish and maintain confidentiality of student health records
• Render first aid to injured students and consult with physician when necessary
• Monitor, inventory and maintain safe storage of medical supplies
• Make appointments for students with off campus facilities
• Process insurance claims
• Receive student health forms and check for validations
• Help produce individual health plans for students with disabilities or long-term health conditions
• Conduct Health Fair each semester
• Promote Health Awareness Programs
• Develop and implement a viable Health and Wellness Program
• Perform other related duties as needed
