Job Description
Reporting to the Executive Director, the Director of Internships and Career Services for the Institute of Politics (IOP) is responsible for driving internship and career-related programming. This includes administration of programs like career roundtables and skill-based workshops, creating new internship opportunities, and building relationships with organizations. The role involves collaboration with other Harvard directors to provide career-focused programming for undergraduates in politics and public service.
Duties and Responsibilities
- Develop, execute, and assess internship and career-related programs, including scheduling, outreach, tracking, and feedback evaluation.
- Manage application, selection, and orientation processes for programs (over 1,000 annually).
- Work with the Executive Director to identify speakers and partners, and manage event logistics for weekly events.
- Collaborate on finances, funding, and joint awards with other Harvard offices.
- Serve as expert and liaison, advising students on recruiting processes.
- Maintain records, promote programming, and build employer partnerships.
- Assist in prospect identification, fundraising strategies, and event planning.
Qualifications
Basic: Bachelor's degree and 7+ years of related experience (e.g., career services, student affairs). Additional: Experience with undergraduates, building partnerships, and working in fast-paced environments. Skills include organizational abilities, customer service, and database management.
