Job Summary
The Director of Operational Analytics reports to the Chief Analytics Officer (CAO) and serves as a strategic leader within the IT Data Analytics team. This role bridges the gap between data science and business operations by driving data-informed decisions across the university.
The Director is responsible for designing, optimizing, and maintaining the data infrastructure - including data lakes and warehouses - to support enterprise business intelligence. By leveraging advanced data analytics, this role empowers leadership with actionable insights to optimize business strategy and performance.
Responsibilities
- Architect and deliver comprehensive analytics reports and datasets that enable university leadership to execute data-driven strategies
- Apply advanced problem-solving and creative thinking to adapt emerging technologies to meet evolving customer and institutional needs
- Lead and mentor a team in the creation and deployment of robust analytical solutions
- Innovate new methodologies for leveraging business data to enhance decision-making processes across departments
- Identify patterns and trends within enterprise data to provide actionable insights into operational efficiency and performance
- Translate complex analytical findings into clear, non-technical narratives for stakeholders to facilitate organizational alignment
- Design, develop, and manage scalable data pipelines for the seamless ingestion and transformation of diverse structured and unstructured data sources
- Evaluate industry trends and advancements in data modeling to ensure the institution remains at the forefront of analytics innovation
Required Qualifications
Educational Requirements
- Bachelor's Degree
Required Experience
- Seven (7) or more years of related work experience
Preferred Qualifications
Preferred Educational Qualifications
- Master's Degree
Preferred Experience
- Experience including data pipeline development and optimization, ETL/ELT processes, and data integration
- Proficiency with at least one of the following programming or query languages: SQL, Python, Java, R; Five or more years of IT leadership and management experience
- Experience with Snowflake and Microsoft Power BI Customer relationship management in a higher education environment

Commensurate with Experience
This is an exempt position paid on a monthly basis.
