POSITION: Director of Student Accounts

Responsibilities:

Will be responsible for the supervision of the operations of the Business Office including the development, implementation, and revision of policies and procedures to best ensure compliance with federal and state laws, regulations, and college policies related to accounts receivable and collections. Will research, analyze, develop and recommend departmental processes and procedures that will increase/improve operational efficiency and ensure proper controls and regulatory compliance. Will coordinate the development, implementation and maintenance of automated systems with IT staff. Incumbent will lead and direct the department with a focus on providing excellent customer services to our students and ensure efficient assistance to students in reference to cashiering, student refunds, financial aid, and student records. Will oversee the College's accounts receivable, revenue, and Agency accounts. This position is exempt with regard to FLSA.

Requirements:

Bachelor’s degree and a minimum of three (3) years prior business office/management experience as well as a minimum of five (5) years customer service focused skills. Master’s degree and five (5) years’ experience preferred. Must have knowledge of fund accounting principles and integrated computer systems as well as effective decision-making skills. Must be able to process confidential and sensitive student record information with discretion and professionalism. The ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing, with the public, and a diverse staff and student population, is also required. Prior experience in training and supervising the work of staff is also required.
