Description
The Director of Supportive Oncology will lead the hospital’s efforts to provide comprehensive, patient-centered supportive care for all individuals diagnosed with cancer through the cancer care continuum. This visionary leader will champion the integration of evidence-based supportive care, ensuring that whole-person care—encompassing physical, psychological, and social well-being—is standard practice from the time of diagnosis.
The Director will hold a faculty appointment at the Yale School of Medicine and will be responsible for building a robust, extramurally funded research portfolio. By fostering collaboration across oncology, primary care, palliative care, and rehabilitation, the Director will elevate Yale’s status as a global leader in supportive oncology.
Supportive Oncology is defined as the prevention and management of cancer and treatment side effects, spanning physical, psychological, social, and spiritual needs from diagnosis through survivorship and end-of-life, aiming to enhance quality of life and improve cancer outcomes.
