Director of Thoracic Imaging

The University of Utah Department of Radiology and Imaging Sciences is seeking a cardiothoracic radiologist to join the cardiothoracic imaging (CTI) section and serve as Director of Thoracic Imaging. The Director will provide leadership and strategic direction for thoracic imaging, including developing goals, process improvement initiatives, workflows, and growth plans. Responsibilities include supervising and mentoring fellows, residents, and medical students; leading thoracic imaging protocol development for CT and MR scanners; being a key stakeholder for evaluation, purchase, and implementation of thoracic imaging software; supporting the thoracic imaging research mission; and collaborating on a thoracic imaging AI research program.

Protected time is provided for educational, research, and administrative duties.

Qualifications:

Applicants must be American Board of Radiology certified or eligible, with fellowship training in thoracic imaging, cardiothoracic imaging, or body imaging including chest imaging. Must be eligible for a Utah medical license, with outstanding clinical and interpersonal skills. A current appointment at the rank of Assistant Professor or higher, leadership experience in radiology, comprehensive expertise in thoracic imaging, strong clinical and academic interests, and a proven track record of academic productivity are required.

Facilities:

Work in state-of-the-art facilities at the University Hospital, Huntsman Cancer Hospital, and multiple outpatient centers. Access to extensive imaging resources, including MRI scanners, PET-CT scanners, and SPECT-CT scanners. Research support through the Utah Center for Advanced Imaging Research (UCAIR) and other institutional resources.
