Director of Women's Health Nurse Practitioner (WHNP) Program
Carlow University's School of Nursing, Graduate Nursing Department seeks an experienced leader and educator to assume the role of Program Director for the Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner Program. This is a full-time, tenure-track position (11 month), located on the Oakland campus in Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania. Position to begin on January 2, 2026. Academic rank and salary are commensurate with educational preparation and experience.
The program director serves as the academic and administrative leader of the WHNP Program, providing oversight for the WHNP and WHNP post-master’s certificate offerings. In addition, as a graduate NP faculty, this role will provide teaching across the WHNP Program as well as in the nurse practitioner core courses. Additional duties of service and scholarship are expected.
Required Experience:
- All candidates must have a doctorate (DNP, PhD, EdD, or another related degree), a master's degree in nursing, and be eligible for Pennsylvania State Professional Nurse licensure as a certified registered nurse practitioner, hold prescriptive authority, and national certification as a Women’s Health Nurse Practitioner
- Three years of academic or related leadership experience.
- Three years of teaching experience in a WHNP program or related experience.
- Minimum five years of clinical experience in the NP role as a WHNP with evidence of current practice.
- Evidence of or potential for an active program of scholarship/research.

- Experience with national standards and accreditation requirements, including the National Organization of Nurse Practitioner Faculty's (NONPF) Core Competencies (2022), the American Academy of Colleges of Nursing (AACN) Core Competencies for Professional Education (2021), and the Commission on Collegiate Nursing Education Standards.
