Director of Workforce & Continuing Education - Engineering & Advanced Technology
Job Function
Provide administrative management and leadership for assigned Workforce and Continuing Education (WCE) areas within the Engineering & Advanced Technology division, in collaboration with faculty and other administrators consistent with college policies and procedures. Responsible for the leadership, development, management and marketing of education, training and consulting services for Engineering & Advanced Technology. Collaborates with other College units, divisions, and departments on operations and curriculum.
Job Responsibilities
- Provide primary leadership for the implementation, management and evaluation of any other current or new programs as assigned
- Develop and implement short- and long-range business and marketing plans with annual operational initiatives, objectives, procedures, timelines and performance criteria related to assigned programs
- Provide administrative leadership to nurture partnerships/relationships with business and industry, funding agencies, K-12 schools, other M-TECs and other training providers, as assigned
- Provide administration leadership and liaison for applicable advisory boards
- Lead professional staff in the internal and external processes for scheduling of courses, programs, faculty and trainers and facilities and integrates activities with related institutional departments and external clients as appropriate
- Assume a primary leadership role in growing the WCE for Engineering & Advanced Technology in enrollments, programs, partners and sustainability
- Recommends, selects, and evaluates staff and provides professional development as assigned
- Lead in the development of teamwork among all staff; functions as a team leader and team member to meet the objectives of the assigned WCE area
- Represents the Dean as assigned
- Promotes continuum of learning (credit and non-credit) and collaborates within division and college to maximize the potential benefits for students, customers, the community and MCC
- Represents the College, the division, the M-TEC and assigned programs to the community, employers, governmental entities and other audiences as appropriate
- Supports the integration of instructional technology into the curriculum
- Recommends and oversees WCE-EAT program budget
- Maintains effective information systems and provides activity reports and fiscal forecasts as required or requested for assigned programs
- Monitors and maintains compliance with college policies, procedures and master agreements as well as applicable state, federal, or other agency accreditation, licensure, registration and/or certification requirements for all assigned programs
- Develop plans and propose procedures to operate assigned WCE programs in a cost-effective, entrepreneurial way while maintaining customer satisfaction
Education
Master's in public administration, Business, Education or related technical field (ie. Engineering, manufacturing etc)
Qualifications
Three years of experience in leadership, managerial or supervisory position required. Prior experience in manufacturing or training management preferred. Experience with responsibility for management of training programs, community college customized training, program evaluation or curriculum development and instructional design preferred.
