JOB DESCRIPTION

Report to: Vice President Academic, Innovation & Research, Millennia University
POSITION OVERVIEW
The Director, Pedagogy, Curriculum & Assessment at Millennia Education is a senior role providing strategic leadership in the design, development and implementation of innovative, student centred and evidence-based teaching, learning and assessment pedagogies. The role drives institutional initiatives in curriculum innovation, academic capability development, digital learning transformation and quality assurance. This role requires an influential and future focused educator with extensive experience in working across Faculties and Departments to support and deliver on the organization’s vision for the students' educational experiences and graduate outcomes.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES
1. Strategic Leadership
- Provide innovative, future focused and influential leadership for the Faculties and Departments in aligning their education strategy with the institutions overall vision and goals
- Provide high-level expertise on contemporary trends in higher education, including AI in learning and assessment, online and hybrid learning, micro-credentials and industry-engaged curriculum
- Champion learning-centred design, accessibility and inclusivity in learning and assessment
2. Pedagogical Innovation and Evaluation
- Develop drive the implementation of evidence-based and innovative learning and assessment practices across the university
- Develop and implement effective and industry-aligned assessment frameworks and practices to monitor and support the improvement of student progress
- Support Faculties in identifying interdisciplinary learning and assessment opportunities in programs
- Effectively collaborate with other senior leaders across the universities portfolios to ensure the development of consistent, high quality and innovation in students educational experiences
- Use data, benchmarks and emerging technologies to monitor and evaluate the effectiveness of programs and to drive continuous improvement in learning and assessment
3. Student Success
- Introduce an Early Student Feedback strategy for both educators and students
- Develop an agreed Students on Track set of principles
- Establish a program for identifying and supporting Students at Risk
4. Academic Capability Development
- Design and lead professional development programs for staff in teaching excellence, assessment design
- Establish communities of practice to engage staff in evidence-based and industry focused pedagogy
- Contribute to the development and delivery of an academic promotion program
REQUIREMENTS
Qualification and Experience
- Post Graduate qualification (preferably PhD) in Education, Education Design or relevant field
- Demonstrated record of academic leadership experience to deliver outcomes across Faculties and/or Departments
- Proven record of teaching excellence, curriculum design and program assessment
- Evidence of development and delivery of innovative learning and assessment practices
- Experience working in an english speaking Higher Education institution in the Asian region
- Familiarity with regulatory and accreditation in higher education bodies

Key Performance Indicators (KPIs)
- Development and implementation of agreed learning and assessment principles for Millennia
- Implementation of innovative and scalable learning and assessment models across the university programs
- Design, development and implementation of an accessible curriculum development framework
- Introduction of a university wide student experience in courses of study survey
- Improvements in student learning and assessment experiences evidenced by student survey and assessment data
- Measurable improvement in student retention across programs of study
- Establishment of a higher education at Millenia program of study for academic staff development
