Florida State University's College of Medicine has been awarded more than $19 million through the Rural Health Transformation Program to strengthen healthcare access and outcomes in rural Florida. The funding will support six new projects focused on critical needs including behavioral health, preventive care, food insecurity, telehealth, at-home care and healthcare workforce development. Through partnerships with communities and healthcare organizations across Northwest and Southwest Florida, FSU is working to bring innovative, practical solutions directly to rural communities and help close longstanding gaps in care.
Responsibilities
- Provides strategic leadership, direction, and administrative oversight for the Rural Health Transformation (RHT) portfolio of six programs. For the overall RHT program at FSU, oversees the planning, development, implementation, review, and evaluation of program goals, objectives, policies, and procedures to support successful achievement of funding priorities, organizational objectives, and community health outcomes. Directs activities supporting the growth, sustainability, and long-term advancement of Rural Health Transformation initiatives. Identifies opportunities to expand programmatic impact through new partnerships, innovative initiatives, funding opportunities, and collaborative endeavors that support the University's rural health mission.
- Directs the establishment of operational frameworks, policies, procedures, and performance standards that promote alignment and consistency across Rural Health Transformation initiatives. Ensures program activities are conducted in accordance with University, state, federal, and funding agency requirements. Provides strategic leadership for relationships with key external partners including healthcare organizations, governmental agencies, academic institutions, community stakeholders, and other partners that support Rural Health Transformation objectives.
- Serves as a representative of the University in collaborative initiatives that advance rural health priorities throughout the state. Works with program evaluator, optimize program performance data impact through communication and dissemination activities publicly. Utilizes performance data and stakeholder input with Rural Health Transformation portfolio to measure program effectiveness, identify opportunities for improvement, and demonstrate organizational impact. Utilizes data and outcomes to guide decision-making, strategic planning, and future program development.
- Leads development of overall RHT program website, social media and other key dissemination and communication outlets. Serves as a resource to University leadership, program personnel, and stakeholders regarding Rural Health Transformation initiatives and priorities. Participates in and may lead committees, advisory groups, and collaborative efforts that advance program objectives and support the University's health and human services mission.
Qualifications
Bachelor's degree and six years of experience related to administrative services; or a high school diploma/equivalent and experience equal to ten years. (Note: post-high school education can substitute for experience at the equivalent rate.)
Valid Florida or Georgia Driver's license or the ability to obtain prior to hire.
