GENERAL STATEMENT OF RESPONSIBILITIES:
The Director of the SUCCESS Fund Program provides strategic leadership for the planning, organization, and coordination of SUCCESS Fund activities, ensuring compliance with state requirements and institutional goals. This position drives student retention and success by designing comprehensive, proactive advising and outreach strategies, coordinating staff efforts across departments, and overseeing tracking systems to capture and report student interactions effectively.
Working under the guidance of the Assistant Dean of Academic Advising, the Director leads the daily operations and strategic direction of the program—developing data-informed plans, managing the budget, and collaborating with campus partners to deliver a holistic student support experience. The role also stewards affinity groups, SUCCESS-funded student engagement initiatives, and programming aligned with the SUCCESS Fund mission.
EXAMPLES OF DUTIES:
- Plan, organize, and coordinate SUCCESS Fund activities using innovative, evidence-based support services—peer mentoring, proactive caseload management, academic workshops, career/transfer advising, and social-belonging initiatives—to meet program goals.
- Provide functional guidance and mentoring to SUCCESS Fund staff through regular meetings, professional development, and a collaborative team culture, ensuring alignment with program objectives and best practices in student support services.
- Guide implementation of wraparound support services and targeted strategies to reduce equity gaps, improve retention, graduation, and transfer rates, and support students identified within the SUCCESS program.
- Partner with the Assistant Dean to develop and implement proactive advising, outreach, and student success strategies, using data-driven assessment to monitor program effectiveness and address barriers to retention.
- Develop and oversee data-tracking systems in EAB Navigate and other software platforms to monitor participant engagement, academic progress, and retention outcomes. Ensure accurate data collection and reporting and train staff on documentation and reporting processes to maintain accuracy, consistency, and compliance.
- Collaborate with Institutional Research and the Grants Office to ensure accurate and timely reporting of student data for state submissions.
- Coordinate with the Grants Office and Assistant Dean to manage the SUCCESS Fund programming budget, ensuring compliance with regulations and completing procurement paperwork.
- Serves as the central point of accountability for SUCCESS Fund student programming and outreach initiatives—affinity groups, peer mentoring, and community-building activities that foster social belonging and engagement.
- Design and facilitate structured workshops, events, and initiatives focused on academic success, career readiness, and financial literacy, ensuring alignment with the SUCCESS Fund's mission and student retention goals.
- Collaborate with Marketing to promote SUCCESS Fund events and maintain a visible program presence through social media and campus communications.
- Coordinate with other campus resources to ensure seamless referrals for wraparound services, connecting students with the support they need to persist and succeed.
- Serve as the primary liaison with internal and external stakeholders, including faculty, staff, community organizations, the Massachusetts Department of Higher Education (DHE), and the Massachusetts Association of Community Colleges (MACC), while representing the SUCCESS program in institutional committees and statewide working groups.
Requirements:
MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS:
- Master's degree in education, higher education, human services, counseling, psychology, social work, or closely related field.
- Three (3) years of experience and/or training that includes program coordination, community relations, vocational/academic counseling, academic advising, retention and persistence initiatives, career development/transitions, implementation and management of education programs or an equivalent combination of education, training, and experience.
- Strong interpersonal, presentation, and written communication skills.
- An understanding of the mission of Cape Cod Community College.
- Strong organizational and analytical skills with the ability to collect, interpret, and use data to inform decision-making.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite and the ability to learn and navigate data management and student success systems, with the capability to train staff in effective system use and data documentation.
- Unrestricted authorization to work in the United States.
ADDITIONAL PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS:
- Experience working in a community college setting.
- Proficiency with student information and success systems such as Jenzabar and EAB Navigate.
- Advanced data skills, including strong Excel capabilities (pivot tables, queries, and data analysis) and experience collecting, validating, and submitting data for grant-funded or state-mandated programs.
- Extensive background in academic coaching/advising with community college students.
- Demonstrated ability to design, coordinate, and facilitate workshops on academic and life skills.
- Proven skill in leading cross-functional initiatives, building consensus, and implementing strategic plans without formal supervisory authority.

Additional Information:
COMPENSATION: Annual salary range of $75,000 - $82,000. Salary will be commensurate with qualifications and experience. Full-time, benefited, Non-Unit Professional, state-supported position including participation in a comprehensive employee benefits program and the option for membership in the Massachusetts State Employees' Retirement System.
