Director, Supplemental Instruction

Job Summary
The Director, Supplemental Instruction will be responsible for providing leadership and managing all aspects of the Supplemental Instruction (SI) program on behalf of HCC. The Supplemental Instruction (SI) program provides academic support for students in a variety of subject areas to increase retention and improve student success.
Essential Functions
- Recruit, hire, train and supervise SI leaders.
- Prepare outcome assessment to further develop offerings; setting goals and objectives; developing strategic plans.
- Create, implement and deliver seminars, workshops and other programs to meet the needs of staff, students and faculty.
- Communicating and collaborating with academic departments and other units to design and improve program offerings.
- Develop promotional materials and program communications utilizing various media formats.
- Collect data and preparing analytical and statistical reports.
- Provide SI training before the start of each semester, continuing training through meetings, observing of SI sessions, and providing feedback to SI leaders on performance.
- Develop and maintain website content.
- Establish and revise policies and procedures for the programs.
- Provide leadership in the developmental and implementation of Supplemental Instruction Programs as appropriate.
- Report to the Executive Director as appropriate on plans and progress involving student persistence, completion, placement rates, and if appropriate, accreditation status and licensure rates.
- Manage activities, including calendars and timelines.
- Attend meetings and arrange for space and equipment in all Learning Assistance Centers.
- Gather and maintain the integrity of administrative data, and write monthly progress and closeout reports.
- Manage and perform technical analytical and related tasks for the collection, interpretation, aggregation, and evaluation of data; incorporates data for grant reporting and management purposes.
- Prepare and submit accurate and timely reports.
- Participate in technical trainings provided by funding agencies in an effort stay informed of changing grant standards and guidelines.
- Prepare and monitor administrative budgets and expenditures in consultation with the Executive Director of Success and Completion.
- Serve on College and District committees as appropriate.
- Act as liaison with District, State, and Federal governing bodies regarding HCC programs and practices as needed.
- Participate in and, at times, administer grant funds (as applicable) to achieve expected outcomes.
- Perform other duties, tasks and assignments as required.
Qualifications
Education & Experience
- Masters Degree in Education or related field required
- 5 years combined experience teaching in a higher education institution, working in a supervisory capacity, creating, developing, implementing and directing faculty/instruction development processes, programs, workshops and events, and working with at-risk or underprepared students required
Licensing & Certification
- Valid Texas Driver License

Working Conditions
General Office. Must be able to perform all job requirements with or without reasonable accommodations; remain in a stationary position during shift; move items weighing up to 25 pounds; position self to operate job equipment; apply established protocols in a timely manner. Must access, input and retrieve information from technology devices; communicate with others to accomplish job requirements. May be required to work after hours to include weekends and holidays.
