The Director provides programmatic administration and leadership for a federally funded TRiO-Student Support Services (SSS) project. Will ensure grant objectives are carried out in compliance with all governing regulations and provide liaison to the U.S. Department of Education. Responsible for enrollment management, budget management, staff supervision, procedural oversight, service assessment, and reporting. The Director represents Student Success Services to the campus community and collaborates with other campus constituencies to create a campus environment that is conducive to the academic success of low-income and first-generation college students and students with disabilities.
QUALIFICATIONS:
Master’s degree required, preferably in a field with relevance to effective practices in higher education student affairs: e.g., guidance and counseling, secondary education, educational psychology, psychology, sociology, personnel management, or social work. A minimum of three years supervisory experience or progressively responsible administrative experience is required. Successful candidates should demonstrate: 1) knowledge of the history and purpose of the Student Support Services program, 2) competence or potential in personnel management, 3) organizational and leadership ability, and 4) competence in computerized data management. Instructional experience is strongly preferred. Previous experience in designing, managing, or implementing an SSS or similar project and demonstrated sensitivity to the needs of disadvantaged students and students of traditionally under-represented groups are preferred. Preference may be given to candidates whose background is similar to the target TRIO population.
