Disability and Inclusive Sport Coordinator
Cardiff Met Sport
Cardiff Met Sport is at the heart of sport, physical activity, health & wellbeing in Wales’ Capital City. Our mission is clear – ‘to profoundly enhance the lives of our communities, making them healthier and stronger as an outcome of engaging with us’.
We work in partnership with a range of local, regional and national partners to develop and manage high quality sport facilities including, the National Indoor Athletics Centre, Tennis Centre and Archers Arena on our Cyncoed Campus along with a number of 21st Century Schools across the City.
To continue to achieve all of this, we need people who bring fresh ideas, creativity and commitment to making a difference, who want to make a positive and lasting impact on people’s lives, in Wales and beyond.
As our Disability and Inclusive Sport Coordinator, you’ll help shape a more inclusive and active future for children and young people across Cardiff. As part of our Active Young People team, you’ll design and deliver inclusive opportunities that remove barriers and open up access to sport and physical activity, particularly for disabled young people.
This is a role where collaboration matters. You’ll work closely with schools, community organisations, National Governing Bodies and health partners, bringing people together to turn ideas into meaningful, lasting programmes.
Your work will contribute to the Move More strategy, helping create a more connected, inclusive and active Cardiff.
You’ll play a key role by:
- Leading the development and delivery of school-based disability and inclusive sport programmes.
- Developing community sport and physical activity opportunities that reduce barriers to participation.
- Collaborating with key partners to plan, deliver and evaluate programmes and events.
- Monitoring and evaluating programme impact through data collection and analysis.
What you’ll bring
You’ll bring experience from sport, physical activity or community settings, alongside a strong understanding of how sport and physical activity works across the UK. Alongside this, you’ll also bring:
- Experience of engaging with disabled people in sport and physical activity, with an understanding of how inclusive approaches can open up opportunities and support a wide range of needs.
- The ability to build strong, trusted relationships and work collaboratively with partners to achieve shared goals.
- A solutions-focused mindset, using problem-solving skills and effective communication and marketing approaches to support programme goals.
- Strong organisation and communication skills, contributing positively within a collaborative team environment.
