Disability Services Coordinator
Job Summary
Assist the Director-Disability Services in delivering services and programs to students. Evaluate and interpret student disability history and documentation to coordinate the provision of appropriate accommodations. Coordinate support services for note taking and alternate formatting and classroom space accessibility. Meet with assigned case load of students on an on-going basis. Serve on Institute wide committees to advise on policies effecting students with disabilities.
Responsibilities
- Evaluate and interpret student disability history and documentation to coordinate the provision of appropriate accommodations.
- Coordinate support services for note taking and alternate formatting and classroom space accessibility.
- Meet with assigned case load of students on an on-going basis to assist and make appropriate referrals for academic and non-academic issues to enhance overall student development.
- Maintain current working knowledge of assistive technology and make recommendations for new acquisitions.
- Assist in disability related programming and campus educational and assessment initiatives.
- Perform other duties as assigned
Required Qualifications
Bachelor's Degree in Psychology, Higher Education, Counseling or related field or equivalent combination of education and experience. Two to four years of job related experience.
