The Division of Critical Care Medicine in the Department of Pediatrics at the University of California, San Francisco, and UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals is recruiting for faculty positions at the Instructor, Assistant, Associate, and Full Professor ranks in the Adjunct, Clinical X, Health Sciences Clinical, or In Residence series. Academic rank will be commensurate with experience.
Selected candidates will join a major academic medical center and established fellowship training program. This position may have clinical responsibilities at both the San Francisco and Oakland campuses and would actively contribute to the Department's mission of excellence in research, education, and patient care.
At UCSF Benioff Children's Hospitals, the pediatric intensive care units (ICUs) include 20 monitored beds at Mission Bay (San Francisco) and 22 monitored beds in Oakland, along with an 18-bed Cardiac ICU at Mission Bay. These units care for a broad multidisciplinary patient population, including post-operative orthopedic, ENT, neurosurgical, and transplant patients (renal, liver, pancreas, heart), as well as children with complex gastrointestinal, hepatology, trauma, and other medically fragile conditions. Continuity of care is provided by pediatric residents, advanced practice nurse practitioners, and critical care/cardiology fellows, with daily multidisciplinary rounds supported by pharmacy, social work, case management, and nutrition services.
Minimum Qualifications
- Medical degree and license
- Board certification or eligibility in Pediatrics
- Board certification or eligibility in Pediatric Critical Care Medicine
Preferred Qualifications
- Demonstrated experience working independently in ICU settings
- Collaborative experience across pediatric disciplines
- Experience teaching and supervising learners
- Strong commitment to patient-focused, responsive care
- Dedication to advancing equitable, high-quality care in an academic setting
For positions that are 51% effort or more: The posted UC salary scales set the minimum pay determined by rank and step at appointment. See Table 5. The minimum base salary range for this position is $114,100-$344,400. This position includes membership in the health sciences compensation plan which provides for eligibility for additional compensation.
For positions that are 50% effort or less: See Table 2 for the salary range for this position. A reasonable estimate for this position is $81,500-$246,000.
