Full/Part Time: Full Time (40 hours per week)
Base rate of $100,000 annually - $48.07 per hour; 41 paid days off per year
About Us: Augusta University is Georgia's innovation center for education and health care. The Department of Juvenile Justice Health Services, established in 2017, collaborates with the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice to deliver high-quality health services to justice-involved youth in 25 facilities.
College/Department Information: Mission is to transform young lives by providing evidence-based rehabilitative treatment services, strengthening youth and families, and fostering safe communities. Each youth receives appropriate, individualized care to improve health knowledge and potential for wellness.
Responsibilities: Under the general direction of the Lead Nurse and clinical direction of the Physician, provides basic medical services utilizing professional medical skills to meet a variety of healthcare needs, with ambulatory care as a primary focus. Must evaluate and treat general medical and health needs of youth. Monitors CQI programs related to patient care.
Required Qualifications: Licensed as a Nurse Practitioner or Physician's Assistant in the State of Georgia; 2 years of previous experience in a clinical setting (prefer 1 year in a correctional setting); Good organizational and decision-making skills; Able to work under pressure; Must relate well to patients, security staff, visitors, and co-workers; Functions within the Georgia Board of Nursing Nurse Practice Act or Georgia Composite Medical Board Rules; Current Health Care Provider BCLS Certification; Must be able to lift 50lbs, with normal bending, reaching, stooping, standing, and sitting; Able to move quickly in emergencies; Security Clearance by the Georgia Department of Juvenile Justice.
