Position description
The Division of Library and Information Science at St. John's University seeks an adjunct faculty member to teach graduate courses in library and information science. The immediate teaching need is for a Spring 2027 course addressing social justice in the information professions. Potential teaching areas include social justice, programs and services for diverse populations, public and academic librarianship, and related areas of library and information science.

- Teaching or professional experience in library and information science

- Experience using Canvas or a comparable learning management system for online instruction

Compensation
For the 2026-2027 academic year, compensation for newly hired adjunct faculty ranges from $1,803 to $2,215 per credit hour, depending on adjunct rank. For a three-credit course, the corresponding compensation range is $5,409 to $6,645. Adjunct rank will be determined through the University's appointment process.
