"Docent (D4) Communication Science"

Job Summary: We are seeking Dutch-speaking D4 lecturers (junior lecturers) for the Communication Science program to teach theory and methods courses in both Dutch and English Bachelor programs. As a D4 lecturer, you will be part of a large team, guided by course coordinators and supported through development programs.

Responsibilities: Conduct workshops in various courses, grade assignments and exams, and supervise students during their internships. There are opportunities to teach in related programs within the Faculty of Social and Behavioral Sciences.

Qualifications and Requirements: You should have a completed Master's degree in Communication Science or a similar field in Social and Behavioral Sciences (a Research Master's is recommended). Experience in teaching is preferred, or a strong desire to gain experience in an academic environment. You must have solid knowledge of quantitative research methods and be able to teach them clearly and inspiringly. Proficiency in both Dutch and English is required. You should enjoy supporting student development, be energized by teaching, and handle busy periods effectively.

What the Employer Offers: A challenging role with varied tasks, room for initiative and development in an enthusiastic team. A 0.8 to 1.0 FTE employment contract starting August 15, 2025, for four years with a two-month probation period. Includes 10% time for education and development, plus an additional 10% in the first year for teaching. You will participate in the Docent Development Program (DOP), which includes training to obtain the Basic Teaching Qualification (BKO) to enhance your career prospects.
