Overview
The University of Canterbury's Doctor of Musical Arts course involves scholarly research, in the form of a supervised research thesis, and performance practice (such as a public music performance or the presentation of compositions).
You will make a significant contribution both intellectually and in practice to the interpretative and/or technical practice of musical performance, or of musical composition.

- The DMA requires a Master of Music with Distinction or Merit, or a Bachelor of Music with Honours with First or Second Class Honours (Division I).
