Imec-Visionlab within the Department of Physics is looking for a Doctoral Candidate in the field of dynamic phase contrast imaging and reconstruction (f/m).This position is part of an FWO fundamental research project, which aims to boost the development of dynamic imaging techniques for time-resolved phase contrast tomography through the development of novel imaging strategies and image reconstruction methods.
Position
- You will work actively on the preparation of a PhD thesis in the field of dynamic phase contrast imaging and reconstruction.
- You will publish scientific articles related to the research project.
- You will carry out a limited number of teaching and research support tasks for imec-Visionlab.
- The starting date is preferably between June and September 2026.
Profile
- You hold a Master degree іn Physics, Mathematics, Engineering or related studies, or you will have obtained it by the time you start work.
- You can demonstrate excellent study results.
- You are proficient in at least one programming language (e.g., python, c++, ...)
- Strong communication skills in English are essential.
- Knowledge of inverse problems, computational imaging, image reconstruction, or deep learning is a plus.
- You possess above all a curious, positive mindset and perseverance
What we offer
- We offer a fully funded doctoral scholarship for a period of two years. Following a positive evaluation, the scholarship can be renewed for another two years.
- Your monthly scholarship amount is calculated according to the scholarship amounts for doctoral scholarship holders.
- You will receive ecocheques, Internet-connectivity allowance, and a bicycle allowance or a full reimbursement of public transport costs for commuting.
