Offer Description
Transilvania University of Brasov invites applications for a Doctoral Candidate / Research Assistant position within the European project “From cells to systems: Pioneering multi-level thrombosis risk prediction models - ThromboRisk”, funded under Horizon Europe, Marie Sklodowska-Curie Actions Doctoral Networks 2024 (HORIZON-MSCA-2024-DN-01), https://www.thromborisk.eu/.
ThromboRisk is an interdisciplinary doctoral training network that combines computational modelling, artificial intelligence, experimental research and clinical data to improve the understanding and prediction of thrombosis.
The successful candidate will work on Doctoral Candidate project DC12: “Multimodal AI Foundation Modelling of Thrombosis Data”.
Research project
The project will investigate the integration of multimodal data into an AI foundation model for thrombosis.
The research will focus on:
- integrating physics-based data generated through computational experiments with medical imaging and clinical measurements;
- developing multimodal data-fusion and representation-learning methods;
- analysing the impact of physics-based data on imaging- and clinical-data-driven tasks;
- developing supervised, semi-supervised, self-supervised and unsupervised learning approaches;
- combining data-driven and physics-based modelling techniques;
- developing robust and interpretable AI models for thrombosis;
- quantifying the benefits and trade-offs of multimodal and multi-scale data integration;
- evaluating the predictive performance and reliability of the resulting models.
The integration of physics-based, imaging and clinical data is expected to produce a more robust, accurate and interpretable AI foundation model for thrombosis.
