QUALIFICATIONS
We seek scholar-practitioners with work experience in the field. We prefer candidates with graduate-level teaching experience, doctoral dissertation committee experience, and a record of research publications.
It is required that the candidate has a doctorate degree in psychology and is licensed (or license eligible) to practice psychology. Faculty members supervise doctoral dissertations, teach course seminars that include both virtual and face-to-face interactions, and, each year, offer in-person seminars across 6 or more days (total) at two or three national sessions.
These sessions require offsite travel. Faculty members also conduct monthly or bimonthly, in-person meetings in the north Florida area with students and serve as their advisor. Candidates who wish to be considered for this faculty position must live in or near (or be willing to relocate) to the Tallahassee-Gainesville area.
Preference will be given to candidates who can teach clinical training courses. We are particularly interested in applicants with successful experience in teaching, research, and/or clinical work with individuals from diverse backgrounds. Faculty members are expected to maintain an active program of research and scholarship as well as participate in program and university committees. We strongly encourage applications from candidates with a psychodynamic background, but all other orientations will be considered as well.
