The Doctoral Programme in Agricultural, Food and Forest Sciences (SAAF) brings together expertise and activities spanning numerous lines of research in the agricultural, food and forest sectors, with a view to improving the efficiency of production processes and with particular attention to the themes of innovation and sustainability. The programme trains highly qualified professionals capable of managing agroecosystems and agri-food, forest and livestock supply chains according to the principles of sustainability and the circular economy, with specific reference to the systems typical of the Mediterranean area and to the challenges of climate change, water resource management and the protection of soil health.

Admission shall be based on: a) Assessment of the research project and qualifications (max 60 points) b) Oral examination and assessment of knowledge of the English language (max 60 points)

Selection process
Applications must be submitted through the Esse3 platform, together with the following documentation: a. A valid identification document; b. Curriculum Vitae in Europass format; c. Academic qualification d. Research proposal (using exclusively Annex B to this Call), written in either Italian or English and relating to the research topic(s) for which the candidate intends to apply (see the instructions set out in the section on research topics). Completion of Annex B (Section 1 and Section 2) is mandatory for admission to the competition referred to in this information sheet. e. Application form, duly completed and signed, after being downloaded from the Esse3 platform in PDF format.
