Position Description
Identify, cultivate, solicit, and steward alumni, parents, and friends of the Texas Tech University System to secure leadership annual and major gifts. Responsible for the successful accomplishment of annual advancement goals; and adherence to the prospect management system. Work is performed under general supervision with broad latitude for initiative
Major/Essential Functions
- With assistance from Foundation Counsel for TTFI, develop and oversee a comprehensive development program focused on planned giving for meeting the System's primary funding needs on an annual and long-term basis.
- Work collaboratively with development colleagues throughout the System and Institutional Advancement to promote planned giving at alumni and special events to improve donor relations.
- Manage a portfolio of planned giving prospects for the System focusing on building relationships by making face-to-face visits with donors and prospects as appropriate, presenting proposals, and soliciting major gifts.
- Enter contact reports after each visit to ensure donor records are kept up to date.
- Engage in effective interpersonal relationships; work cooperatively with the Texas Tech Institutional Advancement team and college staff throughout the System as appropriate.
- Conduct gift planning presentations for internal and external groups.
- Work directly with component institution Vice Presidents and development staff on complex asset gift structures, matters relating to affiliated nonprofit organizations, and other matters/issues related or relevant to advancement.
- Coordinate acquisition, management and disposition of all real estate gifts, including legal review of real estate documents and transactions, and review of due diligence summaries to assess potential risks and liabilities.
- Manage Legal, Planned Giving and Chancellor's Council staff.

Required Qualifications
Bachelor's degree plus one year related experience; OR a combination of education and/or related experience equal to five years.
Preferred Qualifications
Five years of experience in university development/fundraising.
Pay Range
$44,500 - $57,900 - $71,200
