The researcher will work with detection, characterization, and mitigation of GNSS spoofing and jamming attacks. Furthermore, the researcher is also expected to work on models and methods for improved RTK and PPP positioning.
The position is anchored in the division of Geodesy and Earth Observation (GEO). In this position, you will be at the forefront of research within navigation, positioning, and disturbances of GNSS signals. An important part of your work will be to provide research-based advice towards the geodetic authorities. Furthermore, you will take part in teaching and are expected to support innovation within your area.
Responsibilities and qualifications
You are expected to contribute to:
- Research in PNT and disturbances that impact GNSS.
- Research in methods and algorithms for jamming and spoofing, including detection, localization, and mitigation
- Research in GNSS error sources for improved RTK and PPP positioning,
- Research-based teaching in GNSS, geodesy, and surveying. The teaching must be conducted in both Danish and English at both bachelor’s (BSc) and master’s level (MSc)
- Supervision of BSc, MSc, and PhD projects
- Research-based advice towards the geodetic authorities, including activities with the Agency for Climate Data (KDS) and the Danish Defense. You may become subject to a security screening.
- Support innovation within PNT and GNSS. Either you or support to students and colleagues
It is considered an advantage if you have a national and international network within PNT and GNSS and are interested in expanding collaboration. Strong communication skills will be an asset. Our research at DTU focuses on being of use to society, we expect that you will contribute to outreach activities where research will be communicated to the public.
You should be familiar with programming in Python and have experience with the simulation of GNSS signals and software-defined receivers.
You must contribute to the teaching of courses. DTU employs two working languages: Danish and English. You are expected to be fluent in at least one of these languages, and in time are expected to master both.
As a formal qualification, you must hold a PhD degree (or equivalent).
