Dual Credit Onboarding Specialist
Summary
The Dual Credit Onboarding Specialist supports the administration and coordination of East Texas A&M University’s post-secondary partnership programs, including Pride Prep, Early College, and Dual Credit initiatives, by providing specialized onboarding, academic advising, and enrollment services to students, families, and institutional partners. The specialist independently evaluates student eligibility, interprets university and state dual credit requirements, and advises students regarding enrollment pathways, academic planning, and program participation. This position serves as a key liaison between East Texas A&M University and dual credit partner schools to support program effectiveness, student success, and compliance with institutional and regulatory standards.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Coordinate and administer onboarding and enrollment processes for dual credit and post-secondary partnership programs, including Pride Prep, Early College, and Dual Credit initiatives.
- Interpret and apply university policies, state regulations, and program guidelines related to admissions, eligibility, enrollment, registration, add/drop, withdrawal, and academic standing for dual credit students.
- Review, evaluate, and analyze student records, transcripts, TSI documentation, and related academic materials to determine program eligibility, identify enrollment barriers, and recommend appropriate enrollment pathways and next steps.
- Review student academic, scholarship, and billing information before advising for an accurate account of the student’s history and factors that may contribute to the present concern.
- Provide academic advising and individualized guidance to students and families regarding course selection, program participation, academic requirements, and transition planning to post-secondary education.
- Serve as a primary point of contact for assigned school district partners, students, and families regarding onboarding, enrollment, and academic advising matters.
- Collaborate with Assistant Director(s) and campus partners to develop, improve, and implement operational processes and student support practices that enhance program effectiveness and service delivery.
- Facilitate application workshops, advising sessions, registration events, and outreach activities for prospective and continuing dual credit students and families.
- Utilize phone calls, text messaging, email, virtual platforms, and other communication methods to conduct proactive outreach and provide timely guidance and support, including occasional evening and off-hour communication as needed.
- Maintain and oversee accurate student records and documentation while ensuring compliance with university policies, FERPA requirements, state regulations, and applicable reporting standards.
- Monitor student onboarding and enrollment activity to identify trends, resolve issues, and recommend process improvements that support operational efficiency and student success.
Minimum Requirements
- Education: Bachelor’s degree in applicable field or equivalent combination of education and experience.
- Experience / Knowledge / Skills: One year of related experience. Strong interpersonal and communication skills, particularly in one-on-one engagement. Knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, and database applications.
- Ability to: Demonstrate strong verbal and written communication skills, and collaborate with internal and external partners is required. Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced, high-volume environment while maintaining attention to detail and confidentiality. Ability to work beyond normal office hours and/or work on weekends. Ability to travel.
