Mō Tēnei Tūranga Mahi – About the Role

The Early Childhood Education team are seeking an Early Childhood Education Tutor, teaching ECE to the next generation of ECE educators.

You will deliver ECE programmes at Levels 3, 4 and 5.

You will support ākonga through engaging, culturally responsive teaching and contribute to the ongoing development of Early Childhood programmes.

In this role you will:

  • Deliver teaching, assessment and feedback across ECE programmes
  • Foster positive learner identity and support academic literacy
  • Embed te reo Māori and tikanga Māori into teaching and learning
  • Contribute to programme planning, development and quality assurance
  • Build strong relationships with ākonga, colleagues and whānau

Ngā Pūkenga Me Ngā Wheako – Skills and Experience

You will:

  • Have an early childhood teaching qualification and relevant degree
  • Hold an ECE Teacher Registration
  • Experience in early childhood centres, with tertiary teaching experience advantageous
  • Strong cultural capability and a commitment to bicultural practice
  • The ability to support learners through reflective, inclusive teaching practice
