Job Duties: The Lead Teacher is responsible for curriculum, staff performance, environment and communication in a year-round, full-day 4K kindergarten classroom. The person in this position is responsible for understanding and communicating the needs of children and their families, and the interrelationship between these needs and the Center. Teachers must maintain in-service and continuing education requirements as mandated by DPI, state licensing and accreditation.
Key Job Responsibilities:
- Maintains the safety and physical well-being of children in a designated classroom
- Maintains and documents effective communication with internal and external stakeholders to relay pertinent information and provide updates of child activities per established guidelines and regulations
- Plans and facilitates classroom programming and schedules daily classroom activities for an early childhood education facility according to established curriculums
- Mentors new teachers and students
- Evaluates individualized and developmental educational plans for children in collaboration with other stakeholders, as needed

Compensation: $38,500-42,000
**Salary offer commensurate with education and experience.
Required Qualifications: Applicants for this position must have: An associate's degree in education or NAEYC equivalent; Certification in hands-on Pediatric First Aid, AED and CPR is required upon start date and must be maintained during incumbency.
Preferred Qualifications: Highly qualified candidates will also have: A minimum of two years documented experience teaching children 3-6 years of age; A bachelor's degree in education or NAEYC equivalent; A WI DPI license to teach kindergarten; Evidence of strong communication and organizational skills; Evidence of the ability to work well in a complex, team environment with both professional and student staff; Documented ability to apply knowledge of child development to both curriculum development and its implementation in the classroom; Evidence of the ability to understand and communicate children's development and needs to families.
