About the Department/College
IHD is an interdisciplinary unit and the oldest Institute at NAU, housed in the College of Social and Behavioral Sciences. It emphasizes Research and Evaluation, Interdisciplinary Education and Training, Community Service, and Information Dissemination.
About the Position
The Institute of Human Development's Growing In Beauty Partnership Program (GIBPP) is seeking a physical therapist to provide services to children birth to three and their families. This position requires travel and includes clinic and home visits. GIBPP is funded by the Navajo Nation's Office of Special Education and Rehabilitation Services and has provided early intervention services for 30 years.
Responsibilities Include
- 40% - Direct Client Services: Respond to training and technical assistance needs; work with families to develop goals; provide physical therapy interventions; travel to family homes; demonstrate confidentiality and sensitivity; promote access, attitude, and inclusion; maintain licensure.
- 30% - Evaluation: Work with programs to provide eligibility evaluations, program planning, and IFSP development; diagnose movement dysfunction in infants and toddlers.
- 15% - Administration: Administer and score standardized tests; write reports and notes; develop plans of care; assist with grant writing; comply with regulations; mentor students.
- 10% - Community Engagement: Collaborate with projects; promote positive relationships; engage in professional development.
- 5% - Other: Perform other duties; provide outreach; attend trainings.
Minimum Qualifications
- Doctoral degree in physical therapy
- 5 years of relevant experience
- Licensure in Physical Therapy issued by Arizona or equivalent
Preferred Qualifications
- One year of physical therapy experience with pediatric population
- One year in Part C early intervention or three years working with children and families
- Board certification in pediatric physical therapy
- Experience working with tribal populations
Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities
- Knowledge: Of IDEA Parts B and C, AzEIP, patient rights, HIPAA, motor assessment, etc.
- Skills: Excellent communication, organizational skills, proficiency in Microsoft and Google Suites.
- Abilities: Willingness to collaborate, establish relationships, promote diversity, cultural humility.
Compensation
Salary range begins at $77,871 annually, commensurate with qualifications.
