Founded in 1952, and located in Shanghai, East China University of Science and Technology (ECUST) is a dynamic and prominent research-intensive university with high teaching quality. It has been the first chemical industry oriented university in China, known as the “cradle of chemical engineers”.

Job Opportunities and Qualifications

1. Chair Professor

• Candidates should in principle be under the age of 50.
• Candidates should have high academic status and good academic reputation in the field, reach the level of tenured professors in top universities (disciplines), have been recognized as first-class scholars in their professional fields, and have made important achievements recognized by their peers at home and abroad.
• Candidates should have an international perspective and strategic vision, and be able to lead the relevant discipline to catch up with or surpass the world-class level.

2. Distinguished Professor

• Candidates should in principle be under the age of 42.
• Candidates have high visibility and influence in the field, have achieved original and important influential academic results, and have the academic performance and ability close to the level of national key talent.
• Candidates should have the ability to serve as the academic leader in the key direction of the relevant disciplines of the university.

3. Distinguished Researcher

1）Distinguished Researcher

• Candidates should in principle be no more than 35 years old (no more than 38 years old for females) in Science and Engineering, and no more than 40 years old in Humanities and Social Sciences. The age of those listed in the National Young Talent Project can be relaxed appropriately.
• Candidates should have good scientific research experience, and clear research direction, have initially formed research characteristics, and have great potential for development. The teaching and research ability and performance level in the relevant academic field are at or near the level of those selected for the National Young Talent Project.

2）Distinguished Associate Researcher

• Candidates should generally be no more than 32 years old (no more than 35 years old for females) in Science and Engineering, and no more than 37 years old in Humanities and Social Sciences. The age of those listed in the Shanghai Key Talent Project may be relaxed to no more than 35 years old (no more than 38 years old for females) in Science and Engineering and no more than 40 years old in Humanities and Social Sciences.
• Candidates should have a good scientific research background, outstanding research ability and performance in relevant academic fields, and great development potential.

4. Lecturer

• Candidates should possess a doctoral degree from a high-level university or research institution at home or abroad, have professional background and development potential in relevant disciplines, and have achieved certain academic achievements.

5. Postdoctoral Researcher

• Candidates should in principle be no more than 35 years old.
• Candidates should possess a doctoral degree from a high-level university or research institution at home or abroad, and have good academic background and great potential.
