The University of Sydney welcomes applications for various academic disciplines. With the introduction of the new University of Sydney Enterprise Agreement 2023-26, the University has committed to establishing and advertising new continuing education-focused (EF) and teaching and research academic positions across the Faculty of Arts and Social Sciences.

You will have the opportunity to make a significant contribution to teaching in your field of expertise while also building substantial research contribution, expertise, connections, and impact. As part of this role, you will contribute to the governance, leadership, and engagement work of your employing school.

Education Focused Academics (Sydney Horizon Educators) Opportunities: Successful candidates will join the Sydney Horizon Educators cohort. For further insights, watch this video. Sydney Horizon Educators will have access to apply for Education-Focused Specialist Grants of up to AUD$30,000 to support education-related activities.

Positions are for talented educators with a passion for and demonstrated excellence in educational practice and innovation, and research capability.

Teaching and Research Opportunities: These positions are for talented researchers who also have a passion for and demonstrated excellence in pedagogical practice.

The University is seeking applications for positions such as:

• Senior Interdisciplinary Lecturer (Education Focused) Level C in the Faculty Education Team.
• Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Modern Greek and Byzantine Studies (Education Focused) Level B/C in the School of Languages and Cultures.
• Lecturer/Senior Lecturer in Political Economy (Education Focused) Level B/C in the School of Social and Political Sciences.
• Senior Lecturer in Pedagogy and Practice (Education Focused) Level C in the Sydney School of Education and Social Work.
• Senior Lecturer in Primary Numeracy Level C in the Sydney School of Education and Social Work.

Selection criteria vary by position but include a PhD in a relevant field, teaching experience, research record, and more.

About you: Candidates should have a PhD, experience in teaching and learning, and interpersonal skills. Senior Lecturers should demonstrate leadership in education-related issues.
