Education Support Officer (Clinical)

About the opportunity

Join our dynamic team and play a key role in supporting high-quality medical education. As an Education Support Officer (Clinical), you'll provide technical and operational support to academic and teaching staff within the School, helping to deliver a broad range of educational services efficiently and effectively.

In this position, you'll act as a vital link between the University and our Health partners, coordinating timetabling and managing the clinical training of medical students. The role involves regular liaison with a variety of internal and external stakeholders, including representatives from the Local Health District (LHD). This position is based within the Northern Clinical School, where you'll be part of a collaborative team dedicated to excellence in education and clinical training.

Key responsibilities

  • provide high-level education and operational support to academic and teaching staff within the Northern Clinical School
  • coordinate clinical teaching activities, including timetabling, tutor and patient recruitment, and management of teaching spaces
  • act as the key point of contact for students and staff, supporting the smooth delivery of the medical education program
  • liaise with internal and external stakeholders, including Local Health District partners, to ensure effective communication and collaboration
  • support student learning and assessment processes, including clinical placements, exams, results processing, and student compliance
  • maintain accurate records and databases to support teaching, curriculum management, and compliance requirements
  • provide guidance and training to academic and teaching staff on University systems, policies, and procedures
  • contribute to continuous improvement, implementing new initiatives and supporting the Faculty's education strategy

About you

  • tertiary qualifications with relevant work experience; and/or equivalent combination of relevant experience and training
  • superior organisation and planning experience delivering education programs,
  • sound understanding of timetabling/ rostering of student activities
  • flexibility in their approach to work and is able to adapt to changing circumstances
  • proficiency with the Microsoft suite, particularly excel, student learning systems such as Canvas, with the capacity to learn new software systems quickly
  • adaptability and great problem-solving approaches in busy and unpredictable environments.

You must have unrestricted work rights in Australia for the duration of this employment to be eligible to apply. Visa sponsorship is not available for this appointment.
