The structure of the EdD comprises of a taught phase which includes five modules taken over 3 years, and a research phase, during which time you will produce a doctoral thesis. During the research phase you will undertake your own research, to be presented and defended during a viva voce examination, as with other doctoral programmes. Academic requirements
GPA: Upper Second Class. Your GPA, or Grade Point Average, is a number that indicates how well or how high you scored in your courses on average. Usually a GPA scales between 1.0 and 4.0, however different countries and universities can have different grading systems.
English requirements
- TOEFL iBT: 96 (or 5 on the new TOEFL iBT 1-6 score, CEFR-aligned)

General requirements
- An undergraduate degree with a minimum classification of upper second (2:1) or equivalent
- A master's degree in a related discipline or equivalent professional qualification such as a Postgraduate Certificate in Education (PGCE)
- Significant level of organisational experience, usually at least 3 years in a senior role
- Applications must be accompanied with a CV and proposal identifying a professional issue or problem that may form the basis of their future research or a research proposal if applicable.
