Salary Range: Grade M, $6,742 - $8,204 Monthly

Is this position categorically funded? Yes, through June 30, 2026 with possibility of extension.

BASIC FUNCTION: Provides ongoing support and services to students through the matriculation process, career and transfer process, student success programs, and other advising services; collaborates with local high schools, community organizations, and other educational institutions.

SUPERVISION RECEIVED AND EXERCISED: Receives general supervision from assigned area supervisor. May provide lead direction to temporary staff and/or student workers.

CLASS CHARACTERISTICS: Responsible for independently performing specialized duties in support of facilitating and implementing the District's educational programs.

Education and Experience: An associate's degree and two (2) years of experience in higher education serving students in the matriculation process, student success programs, or other counseling services; or an equivalent combination.

Knowledge of: Program offerings, first time student matriculation, student educational plans, diverse programs, assessment tests, workshops, laws, transfer pathways, website development, research, math, administrative procedures, record keeping.

Ability to: Provide support to student success programs, interpret policies, assist with SEP process, host workshops, coordinate outreach, develop website content, follow up with students, prepare materials, maintain files, organize work, use computer systems, communicate effectively, demonstrate sensitivity to diverse backgrounds, provide customer service.

Duties and Responsibilities: Provides ongoing support to students; develops individual educational plans; collaborates with counselors; coordinates workshops and events; facilitates orientations; creates workshops on academic success; updates counseling materials; facilitates outreach activities; engages in student follow-up; provides direction on college rules; reviews assessment tests; oversees student workers; maintains databases and records; addresses student emails; participates in training.
