Job Description

The Center for Child Well-Being, housed within the Department of Psychiatry in the University of Missouri School of Medicine, seeks an Educational Resource Coach to support Early Childhood Programs, including the Infant & Early Childhood Mental Health (iECMH) Initiative.

This position will be based regionally in the East part of Missouri (e.g., St. Louis, Arnold, Hilsboro) and will require regular travel both regionally and statewide.

We are seeking a candidate with a strong background in special education and/or extensive experience working with children ages 0–5 who have atypical mental, behavioral, and/or physical development.

Key Responsibilities include, but are not limited to:

  • Provide on-site consultation and coaching to early childhood programs in East Missouri, focused on social-emotional learning within a Multi-Tiered System of Support (MTSS) framework.
    • Support implementation of Tier 1 (universal supports), Tier 2 (targeted supports), and Tier 3 (individualized intensive interventions).
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge of best practices, state mandates, and emerging trends in early childhood mental health and education in Missouri.
  • Develop and deliver in-person and virtual training sessions for diverse stakeholders on early childhood mental health and social-emotional learning.
  • Conduct research on evidence-based practices to support training and inform project development and implementation.
  • Contribute to project management and project development initiatives as assigned.

Shift

Monday – Friday
8:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
Occasional nights and weekends to accommodate trainings.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor's degree or equivalent combination of education and experience and at least 2 years of experience from which comparable knowledge and skills can be acquired is necessary.

Preferred Qualifications

3 or more years of experience in early childhood education settings preferred
Experience with evidence-based frameworks such as the Pyramid Model, Conscious Discipline, trauma-informed care, etc.
