  • Fixed-term (1 year) position

Āu Mahi | What You Will Do

Join a forward-thinking team shaping the future of digital education. As an Educational Technology Consultant (Assessment), you will play a key role in enhancing the assessment experience for both staff and students through innovative use of technology in an evolving online environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Support assessment at the University and strive to improve existing assessment practices
  • Provide expert advice and support on learning technologies to academic staff and students
  • Support and enhance the effective use of the University’s Learning Management System (Moodle)
  • Ensure that special arrangement students are granted any necessary arrangements for assessment
  • Analyse user needs and provide practical, solution-focused recommendations to improve the assessment experience
  • Contribute to projects and strategic initiatives that advance online learning and teaching innovation
  • Deliver training, workshops, and resources to build capability across the University community

Mōu | Who You Are

To be successful in this role you will have:

  • 3-4 years’ experience supporting learning technologies, including recent experience with a Learning Management System (e.g. Moodle or similar)
  • Proven ability to coach and mentor teachers, lecturers, and/or students in the effective use of educational technologies
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills, with the ability to translate needs into practical solutions
  • Experience in online teaching and/or online learning environments, with an understanding of digital pedagogy
  • Demonstrated experience in project management and/or contributing to strategic initiatives
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to negotiate, influence, and build strong working relationships
  • A collaborative, proactive approach, with the ability to work independently, reflect on performance, and deliver high-quality, customer-focused support in bicultural and multicultural contexts
  • An alignment with our organisation's values and culture, promoting a positive and inclusive work environment.
