Effort Compliance Manager

• Serves as a key resource to campus regarding research administration compliance areas and may supervise staff (35%)

• Supports UW-Madison's technical system needs related to effort management. This includes effort reporting system operations, project management, and system upgrades. (10%)

• Develops, implements, and evaluates policies and procedures related to compliance with federal, state, local, and/or university regulations (10%)

• Assists principal investigators, researchers, administrative staff, leadership, and others to ensure institutional compliance with applicable regulations (35%)

Office of Vice Chancellor for Research (OVCR), Research and Sponsored Programs (RSP), Strategic Support

Compensation:

The starting salary for this position is $80,000 but is negotiable based on experience and qualifications.

This position will receive a comprehensive benefits package, including generous paid time off, competitively priced health/dental/vision/life insurance, tax-advantaged retirement savings accounts, and participation in the Wisconsin Retirement System (WRS) pension fund.

Required Qualifications:

• Five years of experience in Research Administration

Preferred Qualifications:

• Ability to analyze, interpret, and implement Federal, State, and University policies and procedures.
• Ability to analyze and interpret University accounting systems operations and data.
• Excellent communication, planning, problem-solving, project management, and customer service skills.
• Ability to maintain effective working relationships throughout the organization.
• Ability to clearly communicate complex situations and ideas through written communication and oral presentation.
• Identify opportunities for process improvement and implement effective business solutions.

Education:

Associate's Degree is required, Bachelor's Degree is strongly preferred.
