Basic Qualifications
Education/Training: High school diploma or equivalent.
Skill(s): Proficient reading, writing, grammar, organizational, and mathematics skills; proficient interpersonal relations and communicative skills; proficient PC skills, including Internet, Microsoft Office (Excel, Word, Access, Teams, etc.); demonstrated coaching skills; and visual and auditory skills.
Working Conditions: Ability to stand, sit, bend, reach, climb, and lift items weighing 40 lbs. or less; drive a motor vehicle requiring a valid driver’s license; operating heavy machinery, power tools, or equipment; work at elevated heights or in confined spaces and handle hazardous, volatile, or flammable materials.
Experience: A minimum of two (2) years’ experience in a related position preferred.
General Responsibilities
The Environmental Health and Safety Assistant is responsible for performing a variety of duties to support the Company; coordinating work and communication within the department, as well as within other departments; reporting pertinent information to the immediate supervisor; responding to inquiries or requests for information.
This position is classified as safety sensitive. Successful candidates must comply with all company safety policies and procedures, including the company’s drug- and alcohol-free workplace requirements. Individuals in this role are subject to pre-employment, random, post-incident, and reasonable suspicion drug and alcohol testing, consistent with applicable law and company policy. Violations of these policies may result in disciplinary action, up to and including termination of employment.
