Job Summary:
Reporting to the Senior Instructional Designer, the eLearning Instructional Designer is responsible for coordinating, facilitating, and providing online course development services and faculty training.
Primary Duties and Responsibilities:
Essential Performance Requirements:
- Coordinates, facilitates, and provides online course development services and faculty training
- Coordinates online instructional design projects from inception to completion
- Provides instructional design and course development support to online faculty
- Assists in the development of online instructional strategies, course materials, and assessments in accordance with researched best practices
- Provides support for the online faculty certification training
- Designs, develops, facilitates, and maintains training curriculum for TCC Connect instructors
- Researches and recommends online learning technology solutions
- Provides the TCC Connect Senior Instructional Designer with regular updates on all online course development projects
- Participates on behalf of the College in external community organizations and associations as assigned to support the essential performance requirements
- Attends the workplace regularly, reports to work punctually, and follows a work schedule to keep up with the demands of the work site
- Completes all required training and professional development sessions sponsored through Tarrant County College (TCC)
- Supports the mission, values, goals, and principles of the College
- Works under the general supervision of the Senior Instructional Designer
Required Minimum Qualifications:
Master’s degree. Two (2) years’ working experience related to the Essential Performance Requirements. Two (2) years’ working experience of secondary or post-secondary teaching.
Preferred Qualifications:
Two (2) years’ working experience of online secondary or post-secondary teaching. At least one (1) year’s working experience with learning management systems. At least one (1) year's working experience creating online lessons with Articulate 360. At least one (1) year's working experience using Canva or Adobe Creative Suite to produce online learning deliverables. At least one (1) year's working experience with gamification in eLearning.
Knowledge, Skills and Abilities:
Knowledge and understanding of the backward design process. Knowledge of web design and HTML. Knowledge of research methodologies and techniques, processes and standards for planning and implementing instructional design and development, instructional technology and non-technology media and materials development and implementation principles. Knowledge of Learning Theory, instructional strategies, curriculum standards, and assessments. Skilled in excellent customer service and interpersonal relationships, including strong listening, verbal, and written communication. Skilled using computer applications and enterprise systems, including word processing, spreadsheet, and presentation software. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative environment. Ability to analyze data and provide sound recommendations based on policy, procedure, practice, and existing regulations. Ability to perform and prioritize multiple tasks seamlessly ensuring accurate and timely completion, while exhibiting strong attention to detail and organization.

While performing the duties of this job, the employee occasionally works near moving mechanical parts and is occasionally exposed to risk of electrical shock. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
