Emergency Med Services Program Posting Date: 06/14/2018 Minimum Qualifications/Requirements: A current and valid certificate to teach issued by the Ohio Department of Public Safety Division of EMS or equivalent state-level agency. The college will consider, as appropriate, associate degrees coupled with related work experiences in the field, professional licensure and certifications, or other demonstrated competencies and achievements that are relevant to the subject matter to be taught. Demonstrated: -In-depth knowledge of the subject area to be taught; -Proficiency in oral and written communication in the language in which assigned courses will be taught; -Ability to communicate effectively with and maintain positive working relationships with students, peers, supervisors, and staff; -Belief in, and concern for, community service; -High ethical and moral character; -Proficiency with email; -Willingness to teach in a variety of instructional delivery modes including the use of instructional technologies and online learning management systems; -Commitment to diversity; -Commitment to meeting students' learning needs and empowering students in their learning endeavors; and -Personal and educational philosophy compatible with the goals, objectives, and mission of Central Ohio Technical College. Requires successful completion of a background check. Preferred Qualifications: Summary of Duties: The part-time faculty member is responsible for providing professional, quality work as a teaching faculty member. Work includes facilitating student learning by conducting and teaching technical education courses at the undergraduate level, using active learning methods and a variety of instructional strategies designed to assist the learner in meeting the objectives of the course; assessing student learning; and providing academic assistance to students as needed.
