Emergency Medicine Clinician-Scientist (Health Equity), Department of Emergency Medicine, Cumming School of Medicine
The Department of Emergency Medicine, in the Cumming School of Medicine, University of Calgary, invites applications for a Contingent term appointment at the Assistant-Professor level.
Qualifications: MD, specialist certificate in Emergency Medicine from the Royal College of Physicians and Surgeons of Canada (or equivalent), eligibility for licensure with the College of Physicians and Surgeons of Alberta. Graduate training Masters level or higher, and a minimum of two years of research and/or fellowship training.
Applicants must present an established research agenda and strong evidence of scholarship in health equity in emergency medicine/acute care settings, strong publication record, evidence of successful teaching and/or graduate supervision, leadership in health equity, and established academic engagement.
The Department is recruiting an emergency medicine clinician-scientist to lead a research program in health equity. Position: 40% protected time for research, 45% clinical service, 10% service, 5% education.
Priority areas: (1) equity in ED access and throughput; (2) disparities in time-sensitive pathways (stroke, sepsis, ACS, trauma); (3) Indigenous emergency care equity; (4) equitable mental health/addictions care; (5) housing insecurity interventions; (6) digital health/AI equity; (7) equity-focused learning health system.
